About Me
Hi, I'm Alix (she/her/hers). As a child in a military family, I moved often and spent most of my young life abroad in Southeast Asia. The constant transition could be lonely, but gave me a curiosity about the world and other people. I was - and still am- eager to learn about others, and passionate about offering support when and how I can.

Currently, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Counselor Supervisor. I have a passion for helping folks find a space of compassion, connection, and safety in therapy. I have worked as an educator for over a decade - as both a teacher and School Counselor. I'm passionate about expanding educational equity and creating a more just world for our young people. In my practice, I continue to work with young people who are neurodiverse, who struggle with anxiety and depression, or who are ready to heal from past pain.
My passion for healing systems has brought me to begin working with couples - either in Parent-Child or romantic pairs. I use my trauma-informed and attachment-based training to help couples identify their conflict cycle, slow it down, and heal so they can have the deep and safe connection they crave.

Throughout my career, I have passionately pursued therapies that are effective, gentle, and person-centered. I meet folks where they are and empower them with choices. As my clients heal, they notice growth in self-awareness, advocacy, confidence, and self-esteem.

My Approach
I am a play therapist by trade, and I bring curiosity, a sense of humor, creativity, and compassion into all of my sessions. I meet young people where they are. My style can be described as warm, inviting, and non-judgemental.
I work with kids, teens, young adults, and couples who want to work to make sense of their past in order to have happier and more fulfilling futures. Together, we will create a brave space for you and your family to explore challenges with curiosity and compassion. You are always the expert in therapy, and we are partners working together to find the best way forward.
Philosophy
The experience of living under patriarchal, capitalist, and racist systems can cause deep wounds that transcend generations. I am deeply committed to ensuring that culturally-competent, evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy is accessible to everyone. I start with your needs and interweave techniques such as Play Therapy, TF-CBT, EMDR, and Emotionally Focused Therapy if they apply and are a good fit for you, your child, or your relationship.
